Self image is powerful. This video has been floating around facebook over the last day or so and you may have already seen it. Obviously, new clothes and a haircut can't cure alcoholism or fix our problems. But the ability to see yourself as the best person you can be, or the person you wish you were can make a real difference. You gain self-worth, self-respect and others see it in you.

Seattle Headshot Photographer - Session with Juliet

Juliet is an actress in the Seattle area and she came to me for new headshots after researching photographers on line. She was really outstanding to work with and we got a lot of great images.

Headshots Everywhere!

This falls under the category of random stuff I see. 

Here's the story; I bought a new suit over the weekend and with my purchase, I got some nice take-away swag.  One of the items was a nice shaving kit from The Art of Shaving.  Inside the box was a $25 coupon, and on the reverse side of it was this image. 

Here's why it's important to me.  The one thing I do most with my headshot work is to get people to engage their mouth, eyes & eyebrows.  Those are the three things on our face we have control over, and those are the three things that show our emotion, mood & feeling.  I coach people every day with how to manipulate the features on their face to convey a look of confidence with approachability in a still photo. 

The strong shadowing is a bit extreme for what I do, but this guy is definitely engaging all three features.

It's been a busy summer and it's about time I get back on the blogging train. This is a shot from a recent session with Austin Sloan. He's a busy actor in the Seattle/Portland area with a growing resume of top flight TV productions. He's a super guy and it was really great working with him.

Inspire and Teach Others

I made this image just now and posted it to my Facebook page.  I believe strongly in giving back.  I'm starting to reach a point where more and more people are seeking knowledge from me and I'm trying to sort it all out and make as many people happy as I can.
